Brokenshire College Toril (BCT) raked in two more golds and another fourth-place finish as its team of elementary delegates completed its DAPRISA Games 2024 badminton tourney stint on Wednesday.

Cristoff Jay Lasta and Dean Amrit Garcia bagged the gold in Elementary Boys Doubles category. Prime Liceraj Sinasap and Gabrielle Reign Candia followed suit and bagged the top prize in Elementary Girls Doubles category.

Meanwhile, Tyrone Ace Liston placed fourth in the Boys Singles A category.

Elementary Boys Doubles

Lasta and Garcia secured the gold for BCT after defeating Precious International School of Davao’s (PISD) Martinez and Tugas in the Elementary Boys Doubles championship match, 31–29.

Lasta and Garcia ruled early in the match by scoring 7 straight points.

The duo continued to stun PISD as they widened the gap, 16–9.

After the interval, however, PISD sopped BCT’s scoring streak and managed to reach a tie.

Unyielding, Lasta and Garcia proved strong luck-power as the game finished, 31–29 in favor of BCT with Tugas’ hit kissing the net and failing cross into the other side.

Elementary Girls Doubles

In the girls’ category, Sinasap and Candia clinched the gold medal victory against Precious International School of Davao’s (PISD) Nartatez and Ayuban in the championship match.

Sinasap and Candia took off in full attack mode against the PISD duo showcasing numerous smashes in the first half of the match and taking the lead, 16–9.

In the second half, the leading duo could be observed switching to a new approach — defending with drops.

Being in the backline most of the time, Sinasap was forced by Nartetez to laboriously chase after the cork effectively disabling her to recover from her previous smash.

Nonetheless, the BCT duo eventually seized the top prize, 31–18, thanks to PISD committing numerous faults and outs.

Elementary Boys Singles

Defying back-to-back losses, Liston in the Elementary Boys Singles A category managed to land the fourth place in the overall rank.

In his only game in the semi-finals, Liston was defeated by Philippine Nikkei Jin Kai’s (PNJK) Bangot, 31–14.

Fighting for third, Liston also lost to General Bible Baptist College’s (GBBC) Espinosa, 31–22.

Lasta and Garcia (Elementary Boys Doubles), and Sinasap and Candia (Elementary Girls Doubles) will represent DAPRISA in the upcoming Davao City Athletic Association (DCAA) meet.
