BCT’s Feliciano, Galleto undefeated on day 1 of DAPRISA Games ‘23 chess tournament

Brokenshire College Toril (BCT) high school delegates Shayne Ivy Feliciano and Aimee Loraine Galleto swept the board and won all three rounds on day one of DAPRISA Games 2023 Chess Tournament last October 25.
Feliciano and Galleto contended against players from Precious International School of Davao, Holy Spirit Academy of Calinan, Colegio De San Ignacio, and Dr. P. Ocampo College Davao Campus, Inc.
Coach Sammy Lumaad said there are still no rankings but mentioned the “possibility” for Feliciano and Galleto to top the ranks as they have not lost as of writing.
Aside from Feliciano and Galleto, HS boys representatives Jaybe Son Saldivar and Marcus Dylan Evangelio also won in multiple rounds.
Saldivar won two games and ended up drawing on the last game, while Evangelio won one game and drew on one out of three rounds.
BCT also showed might in the Grade School Category, with Elementary Boys representatives Paul Cedric Enriquez and Peter Simon Enriquez securing two wins each. Jaine Allyson Macasarte also won 2 games while Se Kaixy Panugan won 1 game and drew in one more, under the Grade School Girls Category.
Three more games are scheduled to happen this Saturday, October 28 which will mark the culmination of the chess tournament. The ranking of winners will depend on the points garnered that day, in addition to yesterday’s, with the champion title given to the one with the highest accumulated points.
