BCT women’s volleyball team faces temporary setback, dominated by FAA, 0–2

Brokenshire College Toril (BCT) women’s volleyball team suffered its first defeat at the hands of Ford Academy of the Arts (FAA), 0–2 in a qualifying match held yesterday at the BCT gym.
In the first set, FAA went for the first point, followed by 2 consecutive points. The BCT Aces called for a time out after the opponent racked up a decent 5-point lead, 9–4.
After the first timeout, wearing jersey 10, Libre of BCT Aces contributed 2 points to the team followed by another 2 points released by Laguna (jersey 19).
FAA requested for a timeout after the BCT was just about to catch up with their score, 13–11.
FAA, however, managed to break out BCT Aces’ momentum and packed the victory of the first set with a soaring lead of 25–18.
In the second set, BCT transcended with the assist of Laguna who aced 2 times in a row and tailed it with 2 amazing saves which added up another 2 points for them.
But FAA did not let the host team to keep the lead and took over promting BCT to call their first timeout of the second set, 16–13, in favor of FAA.
BCT nearly caught up with the the opponent’s score courtesy of Satera’s (Jersey no.12) 2 service aces resulting in the opponent’s first timeout for the second set of the match.
After that, the two teams went for a long rally eventually won by FAA leaving behind BCT with the score of 21–23.
FAA brought the match to a close and took the victory to the dissatisfaction of the homecourt crowd, with winning sets of 2–0, 25–22 and 25–18.
BCT Aces women’s volleyball team is set to play their last qualifying game later today — a deciding match that will acquire a spot for the quarterfinal match.
