BCT kickstarts Daprisa Games ’23 campaign with 8 gold, 3 other Table Tennis medals

Brokenshire College Toril’s (BCT) Table Tennis team “BCT Paddlers” sent BCT off to a strong start after its delegates won a total of 11 medals, including eight golds, in the Davao Association of Private Schools (DAPRISA) Games 2023 held yesterday at BCT Gym.
Under the coaching of Princess Sarah Paragsa, BCT earned 7 gold medals, 1 silver medal, and 2 bronze medals across the Elementary and High School categories of the competition.
Unopposed, the elementary athletes were declared champions in the Boys Single A, B, and Doubles, and in the Girls Single A, B, and Doubles categories for a total of 6 gold medals.
BCT delegates also reigned in the High School category as they were crowned top winners in the boys Singles A and Doubles, second place in the boys Singles B, and third place in the girls Singles B and Doubles divisions.
Girls Singles B representative won the battle for third place in a close match against Philippine Nikkei Jin Kai International School’s (PNJKIS) Robie, 3–11, 8–11, 11–4, 11–6, 11–8.
Alcosaba and Mondalo, the girls doubles participants, also triumphed in their game versus Precious International School of Davao’s (PISD) Patalita and Moreno, 11–8, 11–8, 11–6, to take home the bronze medal.
Custodio and Tan, BCT’s representatives for the boys Doubles earned the school’s first gold after beating PNJKIS’s Monterde and Sabater, 11–3, 13–11, 12–10.
Soriano followed through, winning his match against Amigo School of Calinan’s Villagracia for the second gold, 11–8, 11–9, 11–6, 11–3.
Tan expressed his excitement in winning the top prize and obtaining a spot for the Davao City Athletic Association (DCAA) Meet.
“For me, labi nag karon, akong gi represent ang Brokenshire happy kaayo kay nakadaog kog gold gyud,” he stated in an interview with The Spark.
The champions are set to compete in DCAA Meet this coming February 2024 with the delegates from different schools across Davao City.
