BCT Badminton Team swoops multiple medals, pronounced champion anew in DAPRISA Games‘23

Brokenshire College Toril (BCT) once again prevailed as the overall champion capturing multiple wins in the Davao Association of Private Schools and Administrators (DAPRISA) Games 2023 Badminton tournament with a total of 9 medals for both Elementary and High school categories.

The team’s elementary athletes brought home 1 gold, 2 silver, and 1 third runner up medal. Their high school (HS) counterparts meanwhile hauled 4 gold and 1 bronze.

On October 24, elementary category started the eliminations resulting in BCT’s Mamacang and Palarong Pambansa winner Diaz taking the title champion from Colegio de San Ignacio’s (CDSI) Labanon & Sinangote the gold medal for Elementary Boys Doubles.

Macalino earned the silver medal in the Elementary Boys Singles. Magtajas also won in the Elementary Girls Singles A category to take third runner-up.

The second day of the competition was the high school division’s turn to show off, qualifying for championships right off the bat. Bancal took the second gold medal in HS Girls Singles after winning her match against Collegio De San Ignacio’s Sinangote, 31–9.

Following the streak was DK Paniamogan in HS Boys Singles A, taking the win, 31–8, against Precious International School of Davao’s Alcano.

JZ Paniamogan & Paran won the HS Boys Doubles championship taking victory against Davao Central College, 31–18.

The HS Girls Doubles also won their gold medal, 31–21, after defeating Precious International School of Davao’s Cabania and Pugosa.

Catalan brought home the last medal for BCT as he beat Philippine Academy of Sakya Davao Inc’s Tabano in the HS Boys Singles B category to take third place with a bronze medal, 31–13.

“We hope na maka ready pa mi sa DCAA,” said Paran with his partner JZ Paniamogan in an interview with The Spark, expressing their thoughts about the competition and their future participation in the DCAA Meet this 2024.
