Brokenshire College Toril (BCT) Men’s Volleyball team failed to defend their undefeated record and lost their chance for a three-peat win against their arch-nemesis, Amanda Marga Special Academic Institution (AMSAI), 0–2.

BCT Aces secured the first three points of the game, but it was intercepted by a service ace by AMSAI.

BCT continued their momentum and advantage against AMSAI, which made AMSAI call for a time-out with a score of 12–8, in favor of BCT.

After the timeout, BCT committed a service error prompting AMSAI to catch up on the game.

AMSAI seized the opportunity as Aces’ service error evened the score at 22–22.

Both teams took turns gaining points and leveling the game score, which instigated BCT to call for a timeout, with a score of 23–24

In the end, BCT failed to secure the first set of the game and succumbed to AMSAI in a close set-point game, 23–25.

In the second set of the championship game, Garcia of BCT Aces gave the first point by demolishing AMSAI’s block.

BCT debuted the set with two consecutive points, but AMSAI caught up immediately. Both teams were again taking turns taking the lead with a very close score margin.

When AMSAI gained a two-point advantage, BCT Coach Perdiel called for a timeout with a score of 9–11 in favor of AMSAI.

Aces thrived to catch up but AMSAI didn’t give in and took the lead even more with a 5-point advantage halfway to the set, 11–16.

After the attack error of AMSAI, BCT finally started to gain a score consecutively, which caused AMSAI to call for a timeout, 14–16 in favor of the opponent.

Following the timeout, the Aces continued their momentum and gained four more points. Haspe’s attack finally gave them a one-point advantage against AMSAI, 19–18 in favor of BCT.

The road to the set point was nearly there and both teams were neck and neck in taking the lead.

After the intense rally and very close game between the teams, BCT failed to defend the ball attack of AMSAI. AMSAI won, 23–25.

BCT Aces took their silver medal and was proclaimed the 1st Runner-Up of the DAPRISA Games 2023 Men’s Volleyball torunament. AMSAI won the championship and is now on its road to DCAA Meet this February 2024.
